Do hookahs get you high? Are they illegal?

Do hookahs get you high? Are they illegal?I see people post pix of them ALL the time on Facebook and I’m not sure if it’s against the law or not, but does it also get you high, or does it just make for a good photo op? Sorry if I sound like a major virgin, but call me crazy for never smoking out of a traditional Indian pipe before.

Hookahs do not get you high, nor are they illegal. The substance that does both of those things has nothing to do with the apparatus itself. You can use a hookah legally to smoke tobacco (the normal kind, not the wacky kind). As to where to buy one, click on the link above.

Hookah Accessories

Always be sure that you have what you need by stocking up on a few basic hookah smoking accessories. You can order individually or in bulk from our wide selection of clay bowls, wind covers, hookah foils, mouth inserts, tongs, hookah trays and more. The age-old tradition of hookah smoking has gained popularity in the United States over the past few years and the market for hookahs, hookah tobacco (shisha) and hookah accessories is only getting stronger.

Buying hookah accessories doesn’t mean buying a cheaply made or unattractive product. Hand-blown glass in shimmering colors, elegantly traced in 21-karat gold, crystal, highly-glazed ceramics, cloisonné-decorated brass, stainless steel worked into graceful curves, and carved wooden pieces all go into the making of a hookah. Since part of the joy of hookah smoking is the beauty and aesthetic pleasure of the hookah itself, wholesale hookahs come in a variety of lovely designs only surpassed by expensive custom models. In addition, styles range from traditional Egyptian and Syrian to modern and neo-exotic interpretations of the classic hookah, rotating hookahs, and more.

Things to look for in wholesale hookahs are quality of craftsmanship and durability of materials used. Stainless steel, Pyrex glass, and stone or ceramic are the best materials, the ones which can take repeated use while continuing to provide a pleasurable, smoking experience. Some metals, like copper, should be avoided (smoking from copper is actually poisonous). Wholesale hookahs are available in wood and brass and other materials, but these materials will not stand up terribly well to the test of time and use.

The base, or vase, of the hookah, is generally where the most artistic effort is expended, as it sets the tone for the whole piece. Hoses should be durable and include replaceable, disposable mouthpieces for individual smokers; hoses come in a variety of styles, from the basic to those covered in soft velvety fabric in lush colors, with carved and dyed wooden ends. The stem between the body and the tobacco bowl can vary widely in height, and is most often a gracefully wrought stainless steel in today’s hookahs. The tobacco bowl will be stone, glazed or unglazed clay, metal, or beautifully colored and shaped Pyrex, and can range in design from simple to ornamental.

Wholesalers will generally require a minimum purchase of $250 to $400, though some will have a higher first-time minimum. Wholesale hookah prices range from $30 to $60 per pipe. A number of accessories must be considered when looking at wholesale hookahs, among them the metal tongs, or pincers, for the hookah charcoal, screens for holding the coal, the hookah charcoal itself, disposable mouthpieces, cleaning brushes, rubber stoppers, and replacement bases, hoses, grommets, and other parts.

I used my last match lighting incense now how do i light a hookah coal with it? lol?

I used my last match lighting incense; now how do I light a hookah charcoal with it? I have 0 lighters or matches here cuz someone biced me last night. I tried lighting paper on fire from the incense, it just embers and smokes – can’t get a flame. Lighting the coal directly doesnt work either. How can I get a flame on something from an incense stick? And hurry - it’s like half out! haha, and yeah, I know I’m bored :D

Dude, you’d better invest in a charcoal burner.

Or you can use your stove. But be careful! haha

Are there any hookah coals that leave behind no odor ?

Hi, I recently purchased a hookah for my birthday and I got these hookah coals labeled Exotica Easy Lite Hookah Cubes. I still have an entire box.. easily over 90 coals, but I don’t really like them. The box says no odor, etc., but boy do these things smell. My mom is cool with me smoking hookah but she gets annoyed and says it smells bad. These coals ruin my entire experience because of the fact that they give off a strong smell and they flake like crazy. They are simply a mess. I know there are coals that give off little if no bad odors. I want to know which ones to buy and I would prefer if they would be quick lite’s so I can just light them with my lighter. Thanks !

Yeah, Japanese Coals always have an odor; it’s the silver coating that stinks. All Coals will have a smell lighting them, and most will have a little smell when on your bowl.

But your best bet is Coconara.

What is the best brand of hookahs?

I’m getting a hookah, and I’m looking for a hookah 2 hose that’s under 40 dollars. Any brands that are the best?

There are a lot of respectable brands out there: Mya Saray, Nammor, Khalil Mamoon, Magdy Zidan, Thamesh.

2 Hose Under $40?

Well, with that budget you limit yourself to one choice aside from the pure Chinese Junk out there.

Mya Petite
hookah-shisha.com/p-5484-mya-saray-hookah-petite-1-hose-hookah.html&idaffiliate=284

Now this pipe is 24.95

Grab another hose, like the Washable hose
hookah-shisha.com/p-486-washable-hookah-hose.html&idaffiliate=284

and grab a hose adapter.
hookah-shisha.com/p-1548-mya-hookah-hose-adapter.html&idaffiliate=284

And you are at $35.85

But then again for just a couple of bucks more you can get the Mya Econo QT
hookah-shisha.com/p-4173-econo-mya-qt-1-hose-hookah.html&idaffiliate=284

If you buy the cheap, “I just want some kind of hookah” hookah, you will always end up with a bad experience, and never get a real chance on what a good smoking session is.

What sort of license would I need for a shisha shop?

My friend wants to open a shisha shop in Dunstable England, and he wants the smoking area to be inside. He wants to sell shisha as well as smoothies and soft drinks. Any one got any info on this? Thank you.

A shisha shop license.

That first comment was a lot of help, huh? Just contact the Department of Revenue, or some such counterpart in the UK, and see what they require. It may be as simple as a sales tax license. Maybe the UK will also require a food handlers’ license (like here in the US) because he’ll be making smoothies. Good luck!

Does a hookah with four hoses effect your hit?

I want to get my boyfriend the absolute best hookah. I want one with at least 3 hoses. But my question is…is a 4-hose hookah better? Or does that effect your hit? My price range is anywhere up to $140. If you have any suggestions or tips I would LOVE to hear from you. Anything is helpful. Thanks!

Well it depends at what you are looking at. Most traditional hookahs are not auto seal which means everyone has to thumb your hose when others take a hit. The One and Only answer for a Multihose Hookah is a Mya Saray Hookah. They can adjust from 1 up to 4 hoses by adding or removing hose adapters. Plus since they are common chamber, 2 people can pull simultaneously without hardly any effect. Check these out:

What is the best website to buy hookahs?

I am looking to buy hookah for my boyfriend for Christmas. I looked at SocialSmoke.Com because it was the most legitimate looking site I could find. I want to look around a little bit more, however, so are there any other good websites out there? Do you have any other suggestions? I’m really unfamiliar when it comes to hookahs in general, so any tips you have would be extremely helpful. Thanks so much.

Hookah Shisha Central is the best site hands down.

They have the best prices, best customer service, and all the hookahs you buy come with everything you need to smoke out of the box.

Any questions their live chat will help you immediately. They can answer any questions you have.

Here are some great hookahs to start out with, that I personally own and recommend:

Epic Smoke Creamy Caramel Review

Whenever you return from the hookah shop with a new flavored tobacco, you always look forward to having nice, big clouds and a rich, flavorful smoke. But this Creamy Caramel doesn’t deliver. It has nice clouds, but no flavor. :( It’s got a nice, juicy cut though. It contains honey, tobacco, glycerin, and flavoring. Try this only if you don’t want a flavored smoke! It’s not that I don’t like it – I just don’t hate it. I’m not sure I’ll smoke it again.
