can you use lump charcoal in a hookah?

i finally got a hooka pipe and i love it, can’t get enough, but i hate buying coals, can i use lump charcoal (not instant light) with my hookah
p.s. what is the best brand of shisha tobacco> my favorite is starbuzz so far

no you CANNOT use lump charcoal there are tons and tons of chemicals in it that should not be inhaled. still to the kind they sell wherever you bought your hookah. i cannot recommend a specific brand but can definitely say do not (if you value your health) use lump charcoal!!! hookah coals are made specifically for smoking.

Hookahs have been gaining popularity across the United States

Hookahs have been gaining popularity all over the planet for the last few decades. Hookah bars continue to open up everywhere, and now have become a popular pastime.  Hookahs have been around for thousands of years, but it hasn’t become as popular as it has in recent years.  New delicious flavors of shisha (flavored tobacco) coupled with exotic hookahs and modern lounges have given the whole experience a new meaning.  Hookahs are a device that is used in smoking flavored molasses and tobacco.

Its flavorful smoke is preferred over that of cigarettes.  Hookahs or nargilas come in a variety of sizes and styles.  The hookahs typically come with everything except the hookah charcoal and the shisha.  However, there are starter kits that offer a complete package with your choice of a hookah, coal, and shisha.  Hookahs can be cheap or expensive on how fancy you would like your hookah to be.  The modern hookahs that are coming out are even cooler.Moving away from the traditional hookah design, these hookahs come with skulls all over it or even shaped like the Eiffel Tower.  It’s very simple to use, just fill up the glass base with water, and place the top part of the hookah on.  Put shisha in the clay bowl and cover it with a foil.  Carefully poke tiny holes all over the foil.  Once you have poked the holes, place clay bowl on top.

Now heat up the hookah coals and place over the foil.  Inhale with the hookah hose and enjoy.  There are many hookahs to choose from.  The best hookahs are usually the one or two hose hookahs.  For entertaining large amounts of guests you may want to consider a three of four hose hookah.  For starters, a single hose hookah is recommended.  A good size is about 20″ tall so you can get a good mouthful of smoke.  Once you’ve decided what hookah you like, you can pick a brand of shisha.  The best brand is Starbuzz.  Its costs a little more than the other brands but it is definitely worth it.  Other good brands are Deja Vu and Layalina and Al Fakher.  The most popular flavor is double apple, but in my opinion we think it’s over rated.  If you’re going to get starbuzz get blue mist or code 69 flavors.  Hookahs are a good way to relax and hangout with friends on occasion.

Is this a good price for a hookah?

I’m planning to buy hookah from this guy today, and I want to make sure it’s a good price first. I’m paying $100 for a mya 3 hose hookah, along with his hookah hoses, a coal bag, and some shisha tobacco. Is this a good price?

Is it used? What Model Mya is it? I’d be sure and ask him why he’s selling it.

Use this as a guide:

Find the model you are thinking of buying and, if it’s not cheaper than what is shown, don’t get it. Keep in mind that many online prices include, hose tips, hookah charcoal, shisha tobacco, and a bunch of other freebies.

Do they sell hookahs at the Cabo San Lucas street market?

Do you know if they sell hookahs at the Cabo San Lucas street market? I’m going and want to get one! lol

Hola. You can still find lots of smoking devices in all the shops there. But I have yet to see a hookah anywhere though! Mexicans aren’t up on their hookahs, I guess. So, go online, and get yourself a mini hookah before you go. They’re small, light, and portable, so it will easily fit in your suitcase – perfect to travel with. You’d better bring all your smoking accessories, too, just in case.

How many coals do I need to put on my hookah?

How many hookah coals do I? I’ve heard that less coals result in a longer smoke session. Is there a minimum of coals I need, or would one work ?

Well yes and no. Theoretically the less heat the slower it cooks. But it really comes down to bowls and tobacco. Most tobaccos can not handle multiple rounds of coals, even if there is some uncached at the bottom.

hookah-shisha.com/store/pc/viewCat_h.asp?idCategory=3&idaffiliate=284

Tangiers is the best known for handling this, because it was designed to. Romman and Nakhla can from time to time, but not as well.

I smoke strictly out of phunnels now, for everything.

hookah-shisha.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=2299&idaffiliate=284

The phunnel design allows better air flow around the tobacco and not through it so the tobacco will last longer, hold in juices better, and just smoke better all night long! typical phunnel goes 2-3 hours for me using Coconara Coals.

I would use 2 Whole Cocos or 3 Half Cocos. Just use a knife and hit the coals to break them.

Hookah coal review- jewels quick light coals

This is my review of jewels quick light coals. They light kinda fast, but not as fast as CHQL’s. If you can’t find three kings charcoal, then grab some of these. The problem with these is that you have to blow on them a lot. I like to have the bottoms red hot before I put them on the hookah bowl. Or at least wait until they ash over. But I think you could hyperventilate by the time you quit blowing on them! Try them if you can find them. Otherwise, just get three kings.

Are there shops for hookah supplies (coals, shisha, replacement pipes, etc.) in Oxford?

Are there shops for hookah smoking accessories, like hookah coals, shisha tobacco, replacement bases, etc. in Oxford? I’m not looking for a hookah bar; I’ve got my own hookah, but am running low on supplies for it.

I’m going to assume you mean Oxford, England. Are you going to school there? Hopefully someone who lives there can clue you in as to where you can buy hookah supplies in your area. In the meantime, look at all of the online sites. They have everything from quick lights to flavored tobaccos to replacement parts. Stock up - you’ll be the hit (pardon the pun) of your dorm.

I used my last match lighting incense now how do i light a hookah coal with it? lol?

I used my last match lighting incense; now how do I light a hookah charcoal with it? I have 0 lighters or matches here cuz someone biced me last night. I tried lighting paper on fire from the incense, it just embers and smokes – can’t get a flame. Lighting the coal directly doesnt work either. How can I get a flame on something from an incense stick? And hurry - it’s like half out! haha, and yeah, I know I’m bored :D

Dude, you’d better invest in a charcoal burner.

Or you can use your stove. But be careful! haha
