One day, me and my friend were smoking hookah when we ran out of our natural hookah coals. We usually use the wood charcoals or the silver tab coals. Since we were out, and we desperately needed more coals, we decided to break a BBQ briquette charcoal into pieces and heat those up. Actually, they worked perfectly fine and did a great job in heating the bowl. It did not change the taste of the smoke as well.

I understand that their may be harmful chemicals in the BBQ charcoals, since they aren’t as natural as hookah coals; however, if I heated the coals all the way (to the core)….. do you think the harmful chemicals will be burnt away, hence being safe to use on hookah?

(I also noticed white specs in the bbq charcoal after i broke it, anyone know what that is? )

Also, what exactly is the BBQ briquette charcoals made of compared to the natural wood charcoal (burnt wood) and the silver tab coals?

BBQ Briquettes will kill you. The Chemicals in there are dangerous!

Stick with coals specifically designed for Hookahs.

Here is a video review of Pineapple + Cinnamon. When put together they equal Pineapple Fritter.

I also do a comparison to the regular Exotica coal line.

These are pre-cut and denser compared to the regular line of Exoticas.

Pretty good coals. But, they come in sizes bigger than 1/4 of a coal from the regular Exoticas. 2 coals aren’t enough for Starbuzz (takes a lil longer to start up) and 3 is too much. For HookaH-HookaH/Hookah Freak…2 Can be too much and 1 is not enough. Also, the amount they come in aren’t equal to the amount of the regular line.

I kinda wished that the regular line was just improved instead of making the “gold” line. But, that’s just me
