I started smoking hookah like in July of 2009. I bought starbuzz hookah and it was perfect and was hitting really good and was able to taste the flavor. Recently, I haven’t been able to taste any flavors. I have 3 different hookah’s and last week I bought a new one and still I can’t taste any flavor! Why? Can someone tell me what going on? And yes, I do clean my hookah everytime I use it. Remember I bought a new one and still no taste!

I smoke hookah a lot and have found I can’t really taste some flavors any more. I’ve noticed the really fruity ones are the easiest to taste.

I am not sure why you can’t taste ANY. It seems like you are doing all of the right things… clean hookah, new hookah, etc. Maybe it has something to do with your hoses? After a while my hoses started getting dusty and blocking the flavors. I went to rubber hoses and it worked much better. Also, maybe it’s your tobacco/sheesha that is old and not flavorful… have you gotten any of that new?

Scientific studies show that smoke reduces how well your taste buds work so unfortunately this may be the case too…

My advice is to get new tobacco that is in a fruity flavor, like melon, and stay away from light flavored ones like chocolate or honey. Maybe the new hoses will help. Also, make sure the coals are burning right on the tobacco because maybe the coals aren’t doing their job. Good luck!

I am new to smoking hookah pipes and just got my first one. I was smoking with my friends and everything went great. Then it was time to leave and I had to pack it up. But it was obviously still hot. So i poured a bottle of water on the bowl to cool it down so i could handle it. Is this damaging to the hookah?

When you’re done smoking take the coals off and blow the ash off.

It’s simple physics. If you pour water on a hot bowl, depending on the quality… you got 3 times before the bowl shatters. You can’t take temperature down that fast without causing structural damage.

I can crack an engine block doing the same thing.

I also do a comparison to the regular Exotica coal line.

These are pre-cut and denser compared to the regular line of Exoticas.

Pretty good coals. But, they come in sizes bigger than 1/4 of a coal from the regular Exoticas. 2 coals aren’t enough for Starbuzz (takes a lil longer to start up) and 3 is too much. For HookaH-HookaH/Hookah Freak…2 Can be too much and 1 is not enough. Also, the amount they come in aren’t equal to the amount of the regular line.

I kinda wished that the regular line was just improved instead of making the “gold” line. But, that’s just me
